7 Reasons Why You have to Know Your Ideal Clients

Yes, that is true! Not all businesses are your potential clients. Kailangan mong magfocus sa isang business industry. Read on and you will know why!

Every business industry is different. Kung nag-uumpisa ka pa lang, you might get overwhelmed with all the opportunities, jobs and skills na pwede mong pag-aralan. Pero hindi ka mag-iimprove kaagad kung lahat ng nakikita mong free online course, o jobs ad eh pag-aaralan mo at aaplayan mo. Knowing Your Target Clients

Ganun din sa paghahanap ng clients. Pwede mo namang aplayan lahat ng type of jobs na makikita mo. Pero mas maraming advantage kung magfofocus ka sa isang niche o business industry. Bago ko isa-isahin yung mga advantages, pagisipan mo muna ito.

Let’s say, isa kang Social Media Manager. Syempre lahat ng businesses ngayon gusto magkaroon ng online presence. Lahat ng businesses gusto magkaroon ng Facebook page. Pero, anong business sa palagay mo ang mas mangangailangan ng social media manager para sa isang Facebook page.

Here are the options: a client with a brick and mortar business – sila yung may mga physical store or buildings na nag-ooffer ng services face-to-face, or a client with an e-commerce business like an online store?

Which do you think of these two businesses badly needs your service? Of course, both of them needs it. BUT an e-commerce needs it more. Online world is their platform, it is where their business survives. Yung may physical store pwede sila mag-operate kahit wala silang Facebook page. They need it for a boost sa marketing nila, pero an online store uses their page, to sell products, to communicate with their customers, and to build their community.

That is why you have to identify your target clients! Yung type of businesses na talagang nangangailangan ng services mo. 

Advantages!

Here are the advantages kapag na-identify mo na yung niche ng ideal clients mo.

  1. The longer you work for a specific type of business, mas masasanay ka sa flow ng work at mga tasks. Same businesses almost have the same pattern ng tasks. Pag nasanay ka na, mas madali ma nang matututuhan yung mga gagawin kahit bago yung client mo.
  2. Pag nagustuhan ng client mo yung ginagawa mo, irerecommend ka niya sa friends niya, na malamang ay kapareho niya din ng type of business. So, tulad ng number 1 advantage, hindi ka na mahihirapan magsimula ulit sa kung anong gagawin sa new client na to since pareho sila ng business.
  3. You can add value to their community. Kung magkaroon ka ng client na baguhan sa industry ng dati mong client, you can suggest ways kung pano nila pwede iimprove yung business nila. That way, your giving value to your client at iisipin nila na expert ka na sa field na yun.
  4. Hindi ka mahihirapan maghanap ng bagong client. Aside from recommendations from your previous clients, makilala mo din yung ibang business owners on that industry. Halimbawa, pag pinagawa ka ng client mo ng research about competitors, may clue ka na kung sino yung mga clients on that field.
  5. Malaking advantage din na kung mag-aaply ka sa parehing niche, plus points agad sa bagong prospect client mo na may experience ka na sa ganung industry. That way meron ka na agad 90% chance na ma-hire ng bagong client na to.
  6. At malalaman mo din yung problems na naeencounter ng clients on that niche, at pwede mo din idagdag yun sa services mo. Halimbawa, kung social media manager ka, since mas OK ngayon yung video content sa social media, pwede mong i-upgrade yung skill mo to video editor. Simple videos na targeted sa target market ng clients mo. That’s a great upgrade to your skills and services.
  7. And pinakamalaking advantage ay yung hindi ka na mag-uumpisa sa simula pag may bago kang client. Hindi mo na kailangan ng days of training dahil nga familiar ka na sa business na yun. Not like kung hahanap ka ng bagong client with a different business, you have to start from scratch.

Dis-Advantage?

I can only think of one dis-advantage. Others may say, “Nakakaboring naman na paulit-ulit yung mga tasks na ginagawa mo.” Pero, like what I’ve said sa previous post, kung gusto mo yung ginagawa mo, at masaya ka dito, hindi ka magsasawa, hindi ka din maboboring.

Kaya, think of it as one of your long term goals! Kung sa tingin mo masaya ka pa din sa ganung tasks kahit after two or three years, then that’s the best for you!

You will realize how easy it is na maghanap ng bagong client kung alam mo kung sino ang hahanapin mo.
